Jason Graves has been a key player at WPS since joining as a Technical Services Manager in December 2008. Now, as Vice President of Technology and Product Innovation, he ensures our products match customer needs and have smooth market launches. Let’s get to know Jason a bit better:
- Q: What is your biggest 'parking blunder'? Have you ever made a hilarious parking mistake?
J: Everyone starts somewhere! As a rookie technician, I once installed a few gate arms backwards. A classic mistake, but a good reminder to double-check and laugh it off. - Q: If you were a car, what type of car would you be and why?
J: I would be a truck because they are strong, reliable, and able to handle tough jobs. Just like a truck, I strive to be dependable and ready to take on any challenge that comes my way. - Q: What are three things you can't live without?
J: The three F’s: Family, Friends and Food! - Q: What is your guilty pleasure?
J: Anything on the BBQ is my guilty pleasure. There's something really satisfying about grilling and enjoying a well-cooked meal with loved ones. It's my favorite way to unwind and indulge. - Q: What is still on your bucket list?
J: I dream of traveling to a secluded island or beach. - Q: If you could swap jobs with a colleague for a day, who would you choose and why?
J: I would swap jobs with the Managing Director. I'm curious about the broader strategic decisions involved in running the business and I think it would be interesting to experience the challenges and responsibilities of that role. - Q: What can people wake you up for in the middle of the night, aside from a parking problem?
J: Family and friends always come first. Need advice, help with a problem, or just someone to talk to? I'm there for them. - Q: Which everyday task would you like to magically make disappear with a ‘parking wand’?
J: Cleaning! Freeing up that time with a magic parking wand would be amazing. - Q: What gives you the most energy during your work?
J: Our customers drive my motivation. Knowing that I'm contributing to parking solutions that make their lives easier and their businesses run more smoothly energizes me. - Q: Do you have a hidden talent that not many people know about?
J: I have a knack for looking at something and being able to build it. - Q: If you had a time machine and could travel to any period in history, where would you go and why?
J: The 1990s. Life was so much simpler then. - Q: If you had to sing a song in a karaoke bar, which song would you choose and why?
J: The song ‘’Sweet home Alabama’’! A classic that always gets me going. - Q: How would your friends describe you in three words?
J: Kind, funny, supportive. I strive to be someone my friends can rely on and enjoy spending time with. - Q: What do you want to achieve professionally?
J: Earning technical certifications to keep growing in my career. - Q: To whom do you want to pass on the 'Meet our Parking Experts' baton?
J: I would like to pass the baton to Stijn Wilms, our Central Support Engineer. He is always willing to help and is incredibly knowledgeable, making him a valuable asset to our team.
